Jemilia " Lady Cafu" Mathlin

Posted by Sheldon Scipio

Jemilia Mathlin born on 7th June 1986 in the fishing village of Carenage was inspired to play football after seeing her Dad's Jamaican friend play the game near her home. This versatile player plays on either wings as a defender or midfielder, or as a forward. she first represented Caridoc Stingrays as a left wing-back during 2002 - 2005. During which time she became a National Player going on to earn 30 caps and scoring 5 goals. her talent earned her a scholarship to South Georgia College.

At the College, she became the school's leading scorer, 40 goals, playing the left midfield position. She is currently represented by We Are Futbol T&T and plays locally for Real Dimension 2008 to present where she has approx 19 goals.

Jemilia has secured a Trial at Spain's Rayo Vallecano Ladies' Team this season, to which she is eagerly looking forward to. Her advice to young T&T Players is "Never give up or doubt yourself, you can play as good as your favorite player, or even better, you just need to believe in yourself and work hard."

She gives her Mom Christine Mathlin praises and thanks for sticking by her, and pushing her to be the best she can be, Mr Swims her 1st Coach and the Staff at Caridoc Stingrays for pushing her in the right direction and believing in her when she gave up on herself.
We wish Jemilia the best in her upcoming career.

Darya Rodriguez ...From the Savannah to possibly Singapore

Posted by Sheldon Scipio

Simply Futbol: How old were you when you started playing football?

Darya: I was around 12/13 when I started playing football.

SF: What was your inspiration to play the Beautiful game?
Darya: My sister Dani was my inspiration at that time in my life, I would do everything that my sister did, and she played football. So I joined because of her, and also my cousin was used to play for a team and was the captain, I guess I was a follow fashion kid........

SF: Who is your favorite Player? Why?
Darya: I would have to say Petr Cech is my favorite player, because after all his intense injuries, he inspires me to keep going no matter what.

SF: How does it feel to become a National Player?
Darya: Becoming a National Player is an extraordinary feeling, representing all the people you pass by pushes you to do your best!
SF: Who would you like to publicly thank for this opportunity?
Darya: I would like to thank my Coach Jason Spence, and all the National U-15 Coaches who have worked with me to make me become much better, and My MOM for always being there, pushing me and supporting me!

SF: Where do you think Football can take you?
Darya: I think it can take me to College abroad and many different countries
SF: What are your present goals and aspirations re Football?
Darya: My goals are to get better, and to keep giving my best and much more, I also want to get a scholarship to study abroad.

SF: How has Football changed your life in general?
Darya: Well ....... I hardly have a social life that's for sure (she laughs), but in the end it's all worth it. It helped me meet a lot of people, and it also helped to create life-long friendships.

SF: What is your most embarrassing football moment?
Darya: hmmmmmm, it was when I got the most embarrassing goal of all time, The ball went straight through my legs and scored, ...................... now that was embarrassing.
SF: What is your best memory so far?
Darya: My best memory was the 1st game I ever played, I had just gone to support Dani (my sister), who was playing. They needed a goalkeeper, my sister volunteered me ....... and all of a sudden I had on a jersey and gloves that were too big for me .... I was put into the goal, and no I didn't save all, but I saved some and that kept me going.

Darya Rodriguez is currently with the Trinidad & Tobago U-15 Girls team that is preparing for the Youth World Olympic Games in Singapore, she represents St Francois girls at the College level, Jason Spence Soccer Academy, and is a We Are Futbol(TT) Player. We wish her and Trinidad & Tobago all the best in Singapore!

RAW FOOTBALL

This is Trinidad & Tobago's GOL TV, the show gets its personality from its hosts, the Beautiful & Sexy Nerissa Granderson, and Mr. Personality, Coach-to-be of Real Madrid Kevin Hoyte, both of whom are DIE-HARD Football fans. this program is 30 minutes (way too short), and is witty, full of excitement, entertainment, crazy, sexy (Nerissa), interactive, informative and MAD FUN!

This is the Show for the next generation of Football fans, players, coaches and anyone with an interest/love for the beautiful game.

It is just what we were waiting for, an exhilarating, exciting local talk show about football, where the passion and intensity of the game is expressed in conversational language that the viewers can understand and appreciate.

Fans get to express themselves "LIVE" over the phone on the Topic of the day. Commentary is invited on all, World Cup Standings, Community Leagues, School Intercol, TT Pro League, Concacaf, Italian League, Spanish League, English Premier League, European Qualifiers, Champions League etc.

RAW FOOTBALL is especially targeted towards the 12th. man on the field, THE FANS!! The one that skips work and saves all his dollars to go to a game, or to a sporting goods store to get hie/her authentic paraphernalia just to be a part of The Greatest Game on Earth! Every aspect of the game is discussed, strategy, standings, local, and offers a snapshot analysis of the game and leagues around the globe, and makes commentary or RAW commentary in some cases.

RAW FOOTBALL is aired on every Sunday afternoon from 6pm to 6.30pm, and re-run on Tuesday afternoon from 12.30pm to 1om. This half hour is divided into 4 segments:

RAW MINUTE: Takes a brief look at Football News;

WAH WAH: the Wah Wah is something displeasing that took place on or off the field, fans call in their Wah Wah's as well;

TAKE A FORWARD: This is a big-up or High-Five to the positive stuff that has occurred, fans partake of this also;

RAW CAM: This cam has a personality of it's own, It is a camera that the host or guest turn on when they need to vent passionately about a subject(this can happen at anytime;

The Boards: Show the standings in the Leagues presently.

The Hosts:

Nerissa Granderson: offers a strong female perspective on the game. She is very opinionated, sassy and a die-hard Manchester United Fan. Don't underestimate the pretty face, she can hold her own against her co-host and callers who she does battle with because of team difference. She truly believe that RAW FOOTBALL gives the average fan am opportunity to have their say. "This show gives the real perspective of the people on sport and I am happy to be a part of bringing that to television and giving it a space in media"

Kevin Hoyte: The mastermind and Producer behind RAW FOOTBALL. This concept came to him as he thought the talk shows on television that dealt with Football lacked excitement, passion and were just boring. It was only for experts and the fans didn't have a voice, thus was born RAW FOOTBALL. Kevin is aggressive in his love for football, he critically assesses the strategy, tactics, coaches, players and even fans. Kevin has aspirations to become a Coach (Real Madrid), with plans to attend a football coaching school in London to gain his Coaching License. he is a die-hard Real Madrid fan, "for life", his passion can never be matched, objections down the line.

"Put God first, football after!"
