The above picture is the best reason to love football. You hardly ever see hot women in bikinis playing baseball, basketball, or American football. Anyway, Week 12 of Argentina's Clausura tournament saw one change in the top 5 even though 3 teams in the top 5 lost this weekend.
5th place River Plate lost 1-0 in Rosario to Newell's. 4th place Colón lost 2-0 on the road to Argentinos Juniors and 2nd place Lanus was hammered at home by3-0 Estudiantes. Huracán jumped into 3rd place with their 3-2 win over Godoy Cruz. Matías De Federico scored the game winner in the 55th minute to move up over Colón and notch their 3rd straight win.
Vélez failed to take advantage of the losses with their uninspired 0-0 draw on the road against San Martín of Tucuman. The damage was minimized however as Vélez maintained their place atop the standings.
Meanwhile, Boca Juniors continued their stunning slide with a 3-2 loss at La Bombonera against Banfield. Víctor López scored in 2nd half injury time to drop Los Xeneizes. The result extends Boca's winless streak to 6 games and drops them to 16th place in the table.
