The Caped Crusader arrived in Barcelona in order to take part in the festivities of the historic treble. Actually the timing was perfect for Planeta DeAgostini's newest publication that was making its premiere in Europe. Despite his busy schedule, Batman was able to pay homage to the newly crowned European champions by holding a jersey up with ¨Pep Batman¨ its dorsal. Hmmm. Could there be a new pairing like there was when Spiderman hooked up with Barack Obama?



Legendary comic artist Jim Lee was present and revealed an even more ironic aspect of the entire event. “Manchester was one of the cities where we planned on setting the comic, but in the end we picked Barcelona. It was a great decision because being there would have been less fun,” he said.

Batman: Barcelona. El Caballero del Dragón (The Gentleman of the Dragon). The comic will be out in circulation as of Thursday in Spain and Italy. The cost of the 48-page hard cover edition will be published in Spanish, Italian, and Catalan. In this edition there will be various exclusive materials including an interview with Barcelona mayor Jordi Hereu talking about the creation of this project. Meanwhile the same publication sans ten pages of exclusive material will be available through DC Comics in the US as well.
