The group stages are over and exciting part is about to begin. The controversy for the Mexican sides is solved- for now. The good news is that they will be playing in Bogota. The bad news is that Chivas and San Luis will be playing São Paulo and Nacional (Uru) respectively.
The most intriguing matchup is probably the one between Libertad and three-time cup winners Estudiantes. The Paraguayan powerhouse will face off against a team led by Juan Sebastián Verón and Marcos Angeleri. Another matchup that will be looked at closely in the River Plate area is the one between second-seeded Boca Juniors and Uruguayan champs Defensor Sporting.
