Blues Lose By Three Field Goals

If we were talking about the Miami Dolphins losing by three field goals, it would have a decent result on the road despite having zero offensive production.

The bad news was that Miami FC lost to Carolina 9-0 on Wednesday night at WakeMed Park. The wheels have officially come off of the Blues' ride towards the playoffs.

Like many brilliant performances, you truly don't know where to start. To start at a specific point would be unfair to the reader. One thing wasn't more important than the other. How can a person talk about this guy when the other guy was just as brilliant. A great conundrum for a coach to have and a writer's nightmare.

Well ladies and gentlemen... this is as far on the other side of the spectrum as you can get. Results like these prove once again that life goes around in circles. The game ended for Miami in the 30th minute- both mentally and scoreboard wise. In Spanish, these types of results are called echa técnicos (coach sackers). After 30 minutes of constructive play, the team simply lost it mentally and after the temper tantrum ended they found themselves a man down and five goals behind. The dam didn't just burst, it fizzled away like a packet of Rock Pops in a little kid's mouth. That was only the beginning.

This is an unacceptable loss; it's an embarrassment for our players, coaches, front office and me, as the president. Even though we played back to back road games and three games in five days, a loss like this should never be tolerated by any standard. We will revise the situation very carefully and make decisions accordingly. - Miami FC President Aaron Davidson.

There is little to say. People need some fresh air tonight.

Factoids

Miami FC in their last seven matches...

- are winless. Their last win was July 24th at Minnesota.

- suffered the biggest blowout in franchise history (9-0 @ Carolina)

- have allowed 24 goals.

- have scored two goals.

- are scoreless in the last 193 minutes.

- earned one point out of the last 21 disputed.

- have a -22 goal differential in their last seven matches.

- would behind Malta (-21), Moldova (-9), Liechtenstein (-14), Azerbaijan (-7), Armenia (-12), Faroe Islands (-7) on goal differential in UEFA qualifiers.

- would be ahead of only Andorra and San Marino with one point. Those two teams have not earned any points as of yet.

- Would have suffered the second worst loss in UEFA quallies so far. The worst was Poland 10-0 San Marino.
