According to Portugal's Record, San Lorenzo's Gonzalo Bergessio has been sold to Ligue 1 side St. Etienne. Rumored price is €6.2 million.

Bergessio is in route to France when he will undergo a medical. Afterward, he is expected to sign a 4 year deal in St. Etienne.

The 25-year-old Bergessio had 22 goals in 51 matches since joining San Lorenzo from Benfica in 2008. To open the Apertura this weekend, Bergessio had a goal and an assist in San Lorenzo's 3-1 win over Atlético Tucumán.

This will be Bergessio's second stint in Europe, having failed to break into the Benfica side during the 2007-08 season. After moving from Racing Club, Bergessio appeared only three times for the Portuguese side before being transferred to San Lorenzo.

For St. Étienne, Bergessio should see immediate playing time, helping to fill the void created by the sale of Bafetimbi Gomis to Lyon earlier this summer.
