Buenos Aires, Argentina - March 20, 2010

After suffering 4 consecutive loses, the board has decided to sack Fernando Gamboa. Chacarita Juniors who is currently in direct relegation, held a meeting with Gamboa and his agent Carlos Mac Allister where they informed them of their decision.

I spoke to an inside source this afternoon, and this is what they had to say "Fernando didn't have a good relationship with the players, many could not stand him". This is something that led the club to accelerate the decision.

Chacarita Juniors offered the spot to Gustavo Alfaro and Leonardo Madelon, but both declined the offers. The candidates: Reinaldo Merlo and Blas Giunta. Who could coach the team on Monday? We Are Futbol and Simply Futbol's friend Luis Marabotto (reserve coach) will most likely take charge on Monday until a decision is made.

Gamboa is not the first coach to be sacked this season, and will not be the last. He could be followed by Diego Simeone (San Lorenzo), and Abel Alves (Boca Juniors). This is one of the main problems in the Argentine league, coaches are not given time to work, instead they are tested on results.
