We Are Fútbol owner Lucas Lugo has joined forces with El Angelito Productions as they have officially obtained the image rights for River Plate star Ariel Ortega. This group will be in charge of launching his official web site as well as his various social media outlets in the coming months. The negotiations include the commercial rights as well as merchandising and appearances.

Ortega has been one of the most talented Argentine players to emerge in the past 20 years. The native of Ledesma, Jujuy broke into the scene with River Plate back in 1991 under the tutelage of Daniel Passarella. With Los Millonarios he became a household name with his outstanding technique, frenetic pace, and deft passing.

In his three stints with River Plate he won five league titles as well as a Copa Libertadores. He also won a Coppa Italia with Parma and an Argentine league title with Newell’s Old Boys.

Ortega also earned 86 caps for the Argentine national team and participated in three World Cups. During his time with the Albiceleste he scored 17 goals. He also was part of the silver medal-winning side in the 1996 Olympics held in Atlanta.
