With four rounds remaining and 12 points up for grabs, the Bundesliga heads into its final portion of the season with a heated race for the championship. Bayern Munich picked up a point on the road against Bayer Leverkusen and took advantage of Schalke’s humilliating defeat against Hannover 96. The Bavarian giants are atop of the standings, two points above Schalke 04. Bayer Leverkusen remains in the hunt although 6 points separate them from Bayern Munich. Borussia Dortmund’s dreams of a Champions League berth took a hit after losing to Mainz while Werder Bremen is in striking distance to qualify for a UEFA Champions League playoff next season.
