Barcelona suffered a huge blow on Tuesday after they found out that star midfielder Andrés Iniesta would be out for the rest of the season after picking up a hamstring injury in practice.

The Manchego recently recovered from the same injury in March after the win at Mallorca. In addition to the seven remaining matches in La Liga, Iniesta will miss out on the Champions League semifinals against Inter.

There is a possibility, in the event the Blaugrana get to the Champions League final at the Santiago Bernabéu, he could be available. It would be a similar situation to last year, where he was rushed to fitness in order to play against Manchester United at the Stadio Olimpico in Rome.

Iniesta suffered from the injury bug during the entire season, not being able to perform on a consistent basis. He started in 30 matches this season and has scored only one goal.  He came off the bench last Saturday in Barcelona's win against Real Madrid 2-0 at the Santiago Bernabéu.
