There is the trophy every team in Argentina is playing for as we are now one week away from seeing who will be kissing that trophy. The results of this round of matches has set up what could be called a championship game. The game of the week was between Lanús and Vélez. Entering the game Lanús was in 3rd place and Vélez sat in first.

José Sand scored his 11th goal of the tournament in the 31st minute finishing a skillful set of passes that ended with Sand scoring from a centering pass. On the road, Vélez looked as if they would suffer their 2nd loss of the season after midfielder Fabián Cubero was red carded for an errant elbow in the 46th minute. Despite being a man down Vélez pressed forward and won a PK in the 69th minute when forward Juan Martínez was taken down in the box. Uruguayan forward Hernán López converted the dot shot for his 11th of the year and the 1-1 final score.

The split of points opened the door for Huracán to take 1st place in the standings with a win. El Globo did just that with their 3-0 home demolition of Arsenal. Huracán won as they have all season with balanced scoring as 3 different players found the back of the net. The victory was Huracán's 5th straight win and extended their unbeaten streak to 9 games.

Huracán is now in 1st place and will travel to Vélez on the final week of the Clausura tournament in what will be the championship game. Unfortunately, the story coming out of the Huracán-Arsenal game was the violence in the stands that led to 2 deaths & 4 others injured. The violence erupted between two rival groups of Huracán fans and marred a festive occasion for El Globo.
