Mexico Gets A Jump On Jersey Presentations

Posted by Juan Arango 7.01.2009

Teams on this side of the Atlantic are getting on the act as far as presenting their kits are concerned. Two of the more popular sides in Mexico upped the ante by showing what they got going for the upcoming Mexican Clausura.
Although not official, Club América have hints being dropped all over the internet. Las Águilas want to bounce back in style that would be reminiscent of their glory days of the 80's with the kit that is being speculated about. The Azulcremas have already used a retro style that is very similar to the one they used in

this year's Interliga tournament and it's surely going to turn heads domesticallly and internationally.

The true difference between the jerseys- I guess you could call it a sign of the times- is the size of the sponsor being much larger than the club's crest. Both Bimbo and Coca-Cola upstage the club's crest, which is now placed on the left hand side of the jersey.

Regardless of the extra frills, Nike took this jersey one step further compared to the new Manchester United jersey that was recently placed on the market.

So now the jersey goes from being completely yellow (or cream) to now having a jersey that has more of a Club América appeal to it from the past. A true joy for any América fan that is really looking forward to seeing the team return to their rightful place in Mexican ball, and more importantly, to see them get there in style.
