German Bundesliga Roundup - Round 1

Ladies & gentlemen in an attempt to expand out Mad About Futbol reach we are going to start giving you roundups of the German Bundesliga. Germany's top league of football is one of the most important in the world and deserves more attention than it currently receives. Therefore, MAF will give you a weekly roundup of The Bundesliga including the scores & standings of the most recent round.

Wolfsburg opened the 2009-10 Bundesliga season with a 2-0 home win against Stuttgart on Friday. Two of Wolfsburg's three headed attacking beast scored for the defending champions. Bosnian playmaker Zvjezdan Misimovic scored in the 71st and 11 minutes later 08-09 Bundesliga Player Of The Year Grafite notched his 1st to give Wolfsburg a comfortable win.

Germany's glamour team, Bayern Munich drew 1-1 with Hoffenheim as Ivica Olic scored for a Bayern side missing stars Luca Toni, Franck Ribery, and Miroslav Klose. The match marked the return of Hoffenheim's Vedad Ibišević. The Bosnian striker was on pace to break the Bundesliga single season goal scoring record before tearing his ACL in a training match in January. Hoffenheim's goal came from Nigerian striker Chinedu Obasi.

The match of the day took place at the Ruhrstadion in Bochum as home side VfL battled from a 3-0 halftime deficit to draw 3-3 with Borussia Monchengladbach. Moroccan-born midfielder Mimoun Azaouagh scored twice in the 51st & 52nd minutes to help Bochum get back in the game. The equalizer came 11 minutes later when Stanislav Sestak found the back of the net to cap the comeback.
