The list did include some surprises. One of the biggest upsets was the exclusion of “El Cebolla” Rodriguez, who was not going to be available for the first two matches of the world cup due to a two game suspension he was awarded by FIFA. Another notable absence is Santiago Silva, last top scorer o the Argentine League with Banfield.
Tavarez has confirmed that Diego Forlan, Sebastian Abreu, Luis Suarez and Diego Lugando will be in the world cup; leaving room only for 19 more players. Uruguay will present the final list on june 1st.
