While the critical relations between Colombia and Venezuela took all the headlines in the Colombian press, the league began its second weekend with some interesting storylines developing. Although there was no Medellín derby as it was postponed due to the ongoing renovations at the Estadio Atanasio Girardot there was still excitement on going in Colombia.
It took seven seconds for La Equidad to beat Junior in a rematch of last tournament's final. Former Boca man Ariel Carreño got into Colombian history books after he scored the fastest goal in that league's history.
Meanwhile the Bogota teams continue their great run of form early on. Millonarios were able to dominate at home and handily beat Cali 1-0 in Richard Paez debut as coach of the 13-time league champs.
Santa Fe continue to their great form as they defeated América in Girardot thanks to goals by Omar Pérez and Julio Gutierrez. This loss puts Jorge Bermúdez side in a compromising position as they fight to prevent relegation.

Millonarios 1-0 Cali
Envigado 1-2 Once Caldas
Sunday

Pereira 1-2 Cúcuta
La Equidad 1-0 Junior
Real Cartagena 0-0 Chicó
