The Florida International University men's soccer team published their 2010 schedule where they will be facing tough competition once again as they look for a spot in the NCAA tournament.

Coach Munga Eketebi enters his fourth season as Golden Panther head coach and this season they are expected to do greater things especially after going unbeaten in their last four matches at the end of last season and sporting a 7-1-9 overall record.

The Panthers will face Nova Southeastern at home on Saturday, Aug. 21 before they travel across town to take on Barry University on Saturday, Aug. 28. FIU will open the season on the road with a match against UIC on Friday, Sept. 3.

The Panthers will take on the DePaul Blue Demons on Sunday, Sept. 5 to finish off their Chicago road trip before heading home to Miami for their home opener against the Wisconsin Badgers on Friday, Sept 10.

After finishing up its two-game homestand with Georgia State (Sept. 12), FIU will tour the state of Florida and take on Jacksonville (Sept. 17), Stetson (Sept. 19) and Florida Gulf Coast (Sept. 24).

The Panthers will kickoff conference play on the road in the midst of their six-game road trip when they travel to Huntington, W.Va. to face Marshall on Oct. 2.

FIU’s trip out of the state of Florida will be a brief one as it will take on UCF in Orlando on Oct. 5 before taking a one-game break from C-USA play to take on rival FAU on Oct. 9 in Boca Raton, Fla.

Returning to Miami for the first time in almost a month for a three-game homestand, FIU will take on Memphis (Oct. 12), UAB (Oct. 16) and non-conference opponent Hartwick College on Oct. 22.

In late October, the Panthers will embark for their final road trip of the season, taking on Kentucky (Oct. 24) and South Carolina (Oct. 27) to finish off the 2010 road slate.

FIU will return to the FIU Soccer Stadium to host 2009 NCAA Quarterfinalist and C-USA defending champion Tulsa on Oct. 30 before finishing up the season against SMU on Nov. 5.
